Role Overview

As an RTG Operator, your core responsibility is the safe and efficient handling of containers through RTG crane operations within the terminal. You will ensure the timely and accurate movement, stacking, loading, and unloading of containers adhering to all operational and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate Rubber Tyred Gantry cranes safely and productively in container terminal tasks.
• Manage container loading, unloading, stacking, grounding, and yard transport with precision.
• Engage RTG automation features such as yard profiling, auto gantry, soft landing, and anti-collision technology.
• Use ROS/SCADA platforms to receive and fulfill operational assignments effectively.
• Conduct RTG block transitions and adhere to remote operating guidelines.
• Perform regular RTG inspections, identifying and reporting any equipment irregularities.
• Collaborate closely with Terminal Operations, Engineering, and HSSE teams to maintain seamless operations.
• Supervise RTG functions aiming to reduce equipment downtime and enhance reliability.
• Strictly follow operational procedures and all mandated safety standards.
• Assist with physical inventory checks and generate daily operation reports as necessary.
• Ensure strict adherence to ISO 45001 occupational health, safety, and environmental policies.

Candidate Qualifications and Experience

• Possession of a Secondary School Certificate or comparable qualification.
• At least six years of demonstrable experience in RTG crane operation and container handling.
• Certification or formal training in RTG machines and their automation systems is advantageous.
• Proficient communication abilities with a working knowledge of English and Arabic languages.
• Capability to perform effectively in an outdoor terminal setting with focus on safety and accuracy.
