About the Role
This management position at a luxury hotel is responsible for overseeing daily operations within Room Service. The role involves directing, training, and supporting team members to ensure compliance with quality standards for food and beverage delivery to guest rooms and hospitality suites. A key goal is to achieve high levels of guest and employee satisfaction while managing departmental budgets efficiently. The manager will also support other food and beverage outlets when needed.
Candidate Profile
Applicants should have either a high school diploma or GED coupled with four years of relevant experience in food service or hospitality, or a two-year degree in a related field with two years of experience. Key competencies include knowledge of food and beverage service and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage all daily room service operations, including staff oversight and policy enforcement.
- Ensure adequate staffing to meet service, operational, and financial goals.
- Lead and inspire the room service team, setting performance standards and fostering a cooperative environment.
- Communicate clearly with employees, maintaining ongoing dialogue to meet business objectives and recognize achievements.
- Provide coaching and feedback to enhance individual and team performance.
- Manage financial aspects such as budgets, operating statements, and payroll within the department.
- Deliver exceptional customer service, addressing guest feedback and resolving complaints promptly.
- Participate in hiring, training, and employee development, focusing on continuous improvement.
- Maintain adherence to cash handling and credit policies.
- Support organizational communication, problem solving, and quality recognition.
