Role Overview

We are seeking a Roofing Estimator to join our NSS Maintenance team based in Altrincham. The successful candidate will prepare precise and commercially viable quotes for roofing and maintenance projects, ranging from smaller reactive jobs to significant tenders valued between £30,000 and £500,000. This role requires collaboration with departments such as Operations, Contracts, Sales, Surveying, and Engineering to ensure timely and accurate pricing and project progression.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle multiple quotation requests and tenders, ensuring accuracy and adherence to service level agreements.
• Create detailed estimates covering labor, materials, equipment, and project timelines.
• Collaborate closely with various internal teams and conduct site surveys for complex or large-scale projects to enable accurate pricing.
• Develop and sustain strong partnerships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors, and explore new supply chain options.
• Proactively track submitted quotes and project opportunities to improve conversion using sound commercial judgment.
• Contribute to continuous enhancement of estimating procedures while considering health and safety and commercial standards.

Candidate Profile

• Background in roofing estimating, building maintenance, or a related technical field.
• In-depth knowledge of general roofing practices, including specialist coatings and dilapidation works.
• Experience preparing estimates for projects and tenders of varying sizes, understanding costs related to labor, materials, equipment, and access.
• Strong commercial acumen and numerical abilities for competitive quotation preparation.
• Able to effectively manage several quotes and deadlines independently in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent communication skills to foster relationships internally and externally.
