Role Overview

The Roll Tender / Sanitation role involves operating the cleaning house side of the mill, aiding the shift miller, and ensuring wheat and flour conform to quality standards while adhering to Food Safety Policies and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). The position requires carrying out sanitation and Integrated Pest Management (IPM) duties and using milling expertise to set up machinery for optimal performance.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Execute designated phases of milling and wheat cleaning operations, including sanitation activities.
• Develop mechanical skills to support preventative maintenance and mill repairs.
• Follow wheat blending schedules and specifications accurately, providing appropriate feedback.
• Conduct product testing and monitoring throughout milling and cleaning processes.
• Maintain sanitation standards to ensure a safe and food-safe workplace.
• Preserve tools and equipment and apply 5S and Pristine AMPS standards along with continuous improvement processes using methods such as Centerline, 5Whys, and Root Cause Analysis.
• Document various activities and inventory records using digital or paper systems.
• Communicate proficiently with supervisors, team members, and customers.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in an industrial setting such as milling, agriculture, or food production.
• Basic proficiency with computer applications including Microsoft Office, with ability to learn new software.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 or more years in an industrial environment related to milling or food production.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of safety practices in production environments.
• Milling production experience.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements

• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) like safety glasses, steel-toe footwear, hard hats, hearing protection, and respirators when necessary.
• Capacity to work a rotating schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Comfort working in a 24/7 machine-paced continuous process, exposed to hot/cold temperatures, indoor/outdoor settings, dusty air with allergens, noise, vibrations, and movement of equipment.
• Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, crouch, kneel, twist, balance, reach, climb stairs/ladders, and occasionally lift, shovel, push, or pull in sometimes confined or elevated locations.

• Openness to professional training in milling practices and related operations.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Employment contingent upon passing drug screening and background checks.
• Team members need to be clean-shaven to properly use respiratory protection equipment requiring a tight seal.

Location and Work Details

Position based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada at 95 - 33rd Street East, S7K 0R8. Full-time onsite employment.
