Role Overview

The Robotics Data Collector will be instrumental in gathering high-quality robotics and egocentric data essential for AI training. This role demands direct interaction with robotic systems, sensors, and operational environments to capture diverse datasets including video, motion, and interaction information. The position suits individuals with meticulous attention to detail, technical curiosity, and comfort working in both laboratory and controlled real-world settings.

Primary Responsibilities

• Collect data using various cameras (handheld, head-mounted, robot-mounted) and sensors (e.g., IMU, depth cameras).
• Conduct data acquisition following established scenarios and protocols, ensuring accuracy and consistency in capturing actions, interactions, and surroundings.
• Assist in operating robotic platforms such as humanoid and mobile robots during data capture sessions.
• Support equipment setup and calibration including cameras, sensors, and recording systems, ensuring hardware operates correctly throughout experiments.
• Review datasets for completeness, clarity, and accuracy; identify and flag issues like missing data, recording errors, or sensor misalignment, adhering to quality standards for AI usability.
• Prepare environments to facilitate data collection, implementing tasks like object manipulation, navigation scenarios, and human-robot interaction recordings, following precise instructions to reflect real-world applications.
• Maintain detailed documentation of data collection activities, equipment usage, and any challenges encountered, offering feedback for continual process improvements.
• Adhere to laboratory safety protocols and operational guidelines, handling robotics equipment and sensors with care, and complying with data privacy and security policies.

Required Qualifications

• Between zero to three years of experience, ideally in data collection, field operations, laboratory settings, or technical hardware roles.
• Proficient in working with cameras, various sensors, recording devices, and basic computer tools.
• Strong focus on detail with the ability to meticulously follow instructions.
