Road Design Engineer

About the Role

An international engineering consultancy seeks an experienced Road Design Engineer to become part of their established design team based in Qatar. This head-office position involves supporting the design, technical delivery, and coordination of extensive road infrastructure projects. The role requires close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and complete detailed design packages for roads and highways.
• Provide technical expertise throughout the design phase, from initial concept to detailed design stages.
• Coordinate road design efforts with drainage, utilities, structures, traffic, geotechnical, and other relevant disciplines.
• Review technical submissions including drawings, specifications, and calculations.
• Collaborate with project managers, discipline leads, clients, and contractors to address and resolve design challenges.

Candidate Requirements

• Between 10 and 15 years of relevant experience in road and highway design.
• A degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
• Extensive expertise in designing and coordinating significant road infrastructure projects.
• Sound knowledge of highway geometry, alignments, junctions, earthworks, and associated infrastructure components.
• Demonstrated experience working within multidisciplinary engineering consultancy environments.
