Job Overview

This role involves designing and sustaining a robust risk review system that delivers reliable, insightful, and consistent data to undergird evidence-based decisions. The position requires strong analytical capabilities and familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as Capital Adequacy, Liquidity, and Pillar 2. Candidates should be proficient in managing extensive datasets and be skilled in programming with Python or R to create small-scale automated solutions.

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop and manage a detailed risk database encompassing all on- and off-balance sheet transactions across the bank.
• Perform analysis of credit portfolios, generating monthly and quarterly reports on risk performance and portfolio diversification.
• Research and introduce specialized reports focusing on specific sectors or business units.
• Identify key portfolio metrics and indicators to enhance the quality and timeliness of reporting and analysis.
• Review account statuses by evaluating past due reports and assessing performance of non-performing loan accounts.
• Monitor and track essential metrics within the Risk Appetite Framework.
• Ensure regulatory compliance by preparing ICAAP / Capital Plan and Recovery Plan by required deadlines.
• Conduct portfolio stress testing and examine critical exposures.
• Oversee the Bank’s Expected Credit Loss (ECL) model to comply with Qatar Central Bank requirements, including associated reporting.
• Respond efficiently to data and information requests from internal and external stakeholders.
• Coordinate the collation, creation, and assessment of all portfolio management reports.
• Engage in data collection practices and the evaluation of collection methodologies, leveraging tools like Python and R to optimize workflow enhancements.
• Prepare accurate data and documentation for business units, auditors, and compliance teams.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulations related to regulatory capital, Basel IV, liquidity, and stress testing practices.
• Develop credit risk models such as Probability of Default (PD), Loss Given Default (LGD), Credit Conversion Factor (CCF), and macroeconomic model validations.

Key Competencies

• Exceptional analytical and quantitative skill set.
• Comprehensive understanding of portfolio management and banking policies.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and programming languages, particularly SQL and Python.
• Experience or knowledge in financial modeling is advantageous.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in business or a related field.
• 5 to 10 years of pertinent risk management experience with in-depth understanding of banking balance sheets and product range.
