Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager will oversee the store's business operations, driving achievement of estimated sales targets according to company strategies, policies, and brand image. This role holds full accountability for the store's profit and loss performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the Bata store strictly according to company policies to maximize customer satisfaction and sales turnover.
- Take total operational and financial charge of the assigned store location.
- Provide strong leadership by motivating, coaching, and training team members to deliver operational excellence and exceptional customer service.
- Maintain company Prosperity Cards, performance review cards, and daily sales tracking tools for sales promoters to monitor performance.
- Conduct daily and weekly meetings with store staff to set sales targets, review individual and store sales performance, communicate new product launches and displays, and strategize on clearing slow-moving inventory through promotions and discounts.
- Ensure stock levels meet company standards across all categories and maintain an optimal stock turnover ratio (currently 3) in terms of pairs and value.
- Coordinate with the district manager to ensure timely and adequate stock supplies, plan re-supply schedules with route planning, and keep all parties informed.
- Manage daily store operations by scheduling sales promoters and setting productivity standards.
- Ensure the store is open and fully operational during business hours, including extended hours if market demands require and as per legal provisions.
- Maintain store ambiance and hygiene standards covering sales floor, stockroom, furniture, and fixtures per company guidelines.
- Propose and execute minor renovations and repairs after obtaining approval within authority limits.
- Implement visual merchandising standards according to company guidelines, including monthly themes and dedicated space for promotions and discounted items.
- Ensure the appropriate number of store staff aligned with productivity requirements; guarantee staff are presentable, punctual, trained, and disciplined.
- Support sales teams by providing necessary resources and motivation to enhance performance.
- Address and resolve staff grievances promptly to maintain a positive work environment.
