About the Role
Join Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services as a Retail Security Officer based at Gallagher Retail Park in Bristol. This full-time, on-site position offers a pay rate of £13.45 per hour along with paid breaks. The role centers around safeguarding customers and colleagues by providing a strong, visible security presence and excellent customer service in a retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Safeguard customers and staff from physical or verbal abuse by maintaining a professional and reassuring security presence.
- Ensure high visibility to deter crime and anti-social behaviors while delivering exceptional customer service.
- Prevent theft, anti-social conduct, and other criminal activities proactively.
- Collaborate with store management, police, and external agencies as necessary.
- Use conflict resolution techniques to de-escalate tense situations effectively.
- Identify and address behaviors or circumstances that may threaten health, safety, or well-being according to company policies.
Candidate Profile
- A dedicated team player with a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
- Capable of working independently and on own initiative.
- Previous experience in retail security is essential.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing work shifts, locations, and teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable with using technology as part of daily duties.
- Skilled in recognizing conflict triggers and mediating disputes.
- Ethical conduct and professionalism are required at all times.
- Conflict resolution training mandatory.
- Must hold a Frontline Door Supervision or Security Guarding License; CCTV license advantage.
- Possession of a full UK driving license is advantageous.
- Ability to effectively utilize Body-Worn Camera CCTV during confrontations.
