Job description

Role Summary

As a Retail Sales Advisor, you will be central to our brand representation, serving as the initial touchpoint for customers visiting our showrooms. Your role involves guiding customers in selecting furniture and accessories from our wide product range, using a consultative sales method grounded in comprehensive product knowledge to provide an outstanding experience every time.

Key Duties

  • Deliver superior customer service by leveraging expert product knowledge of Oak Furnitureland's extensive ranges and services.
  • Apply the Retail Sales Model to recommend furniture solutions that align with the customer's needs, facilitating informed purchase choices.
  • Enhance customer satisfaction scores, including NPS and Trust Pilot ratings, to boost loyalty, brand reputation, repeat purchases, and new sales prospects.
  • Consistently meet or exceed personal sales targets and KPIs, supporting the showroom team in achieving exceptional business outcomes.
  • Foster an inclusive team environment in cooperation with the Store and Assistant Managers, upholding company values and behaviours.
  • Collaborate with Visual Merchandising and Facilities teams to ensure the showroom is safe, inviting, compliant, and professionally presented reflecting brand standards.
  • Participate actively in Partnering 4 Performance programs to develop personal objectives and growth plans aligned with company goals.
  • Adhere to all company processes, policies, and procedures across business and showroom operations.
  • Stay informed about internal and external factors affecting trade and customer experience to maintain commercial awareness.
  • Utilize training materials and communications to maintain updated knowledge of products and services, enhancing sales performance.
  • Process customer data securely and accurately in line with policies using Oak Furnitureland systems.
  • Promote an integrated omnichannel shopping experience by advising customers on digital tools and marketing resources to aid purchase decisions.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Significant experience in customer-facing retail roles, preferably within furniture or similar consultative sales settings.
  • Proficiency in sales processes and models, capable of consistently achieving sales targets.
  • Strong questioning, listening, and persuasive communication skills to foster influential and positive customer relationships.
  • Proven experience working effectively within successful, high-performing teams.
  • Track record of meeting and surpassing personal and team KPIs and goals.
  • Understanding of the relationship between customer experience and metrics like NPS, Trust Pilot reviews, and repeat business.
  • Knowledgeable about furniture industry products, Oak Furnitureland's unique selling points, and competitors.
  • Aware of regulatory frameworks relevant to this sector and capable of complying with policies and procedures.
  • Insight into customer purchasing motivations and factors influencing buying decisions.

Additional Information

  • Sales advisors work towards store sales targets and can earn uncapped commissions up to 4% on sales.
  • Working hours are full-time: 40 hours per week over 5 days, with one weekend off every six weeks.
  • This position suits candidates with backgrounds in roles such as Sales Associate, Sales Consultant, Retail Associate, Sales Professional, or Sales Executive.
