Retail Manager

About the Role

Asseurance Pty Ltd, an Australian company operating a retail store in Port Melbourne, Victoria, is seeking a dedicated full-time Retail Manager to oversee their store operations. This position reports directly to the store owner and manages all store staff while maintaining strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and head office personnel.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the overall appearance and standards of the store, ensuring strict enforcement of company policies and procedures.
• Take full responsibility for all store operations including food management, staff rostering, budgeting, and cash handling processes.
• Monitor stock inventory closely to guarantee continuous replenishment of products and ingredients.
• Track and document both incoming and outgoing business expenditures accurately.
• Ensure the store consistently meets its financial targets and operates within the proposed budget.
• Supervise the team to confirm compliance with all relevant policies and industry standards.
• Ensure adherence to company and legal regulations regarding employment, hygiene, health, and safety standards.
• Recruit, educate, and develop capable and outstanding team members as necessary.
• Deploy seasonal marketing initiatives to increase sales performance.
• Maintain an organized and clean store environment at all times.
• Conduct regular staff meetings to foster communication and teamwork.
• Drive sales growth through promotional items such as box toppings, wobble boards, and car tops.
• Oversee the upkeep and cleanliness of company vehicles.
• Encourage and maintain a positive, proactive, and enjoyable workplace culture.

Requirements

• Possession of a relevant AQF associate degree, Advanced Diploma, or Diploma in a related field.
• At least two years of managerial experience in a multi-outlet retail environment.
• A minimum of 24 months managing personnel effectively.
• Minimum two years’ experience handling inventory control, stock monitoring, and shrinkage reduction.
• Experienced in store merchandising, ensuring product placement is strategic and customer-focused.
• Proficient with retail management and Point of Sale (POS) systems for at least two years.
• Skilled in managing supplier orders, controlling stock, minimizing wastage, and ensuring product availability for a minimum of 24 months.
• A strong background in operational management.
• Ability to adapt to change at the store level and promote a culture of enthusiasm.
• Demonstrated capabilities in visual merchandising and volume stock management.
• A passion for enhancing customer service quality.
• Exemplary time management and a keen eye for detail.

Compensation and Location

This full-time role is based in Port Melbourne, VIC, offering an annual salary of $80,000 plus superannuation.
