Restaurant Manager

Job Overview

This permanent full-time position is located in an urban area within the Greater St. John's Metropolitan Area and requires 40 hours of work per week. The working language is English.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze budgets to enhance and sustain the restaurant's profitability.
• Plan and coordinate the daily operational activities of the restaurant.
• Handle recruitment and staffing procedures.
• Manage financial tasks including cash balancing, preparing balance sheets, cash reports, and related documents.
• Evaluate employee performance through regular reviews.
• Calculate costs for products and services.
• Maintain organized inventory systems.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Negotiate supply agreements with vendors for food and other materials.
• Contribute to marketing strategy development and execution.
• Resolve customer complaints and concerns promptly.
• Deliver high-quality customer service.
• Oversee, guide, and manage daily operational workflows effectively.

Supervisory Role

Manage and supervise a team of 11 to 15 staff members.

Technical Competencies

• Proficiency in electronic cash registers and point of sale systems.
• Experience with MS Office suite including MS Excel, MS Word, MS Access, and Windows environment.
• Ability to work effectively with spreadsheets.

Work Environment and Conditions

• Fast-paced and high-pressure settings with stringent deadlines.
• Combination of sitting, standing, and walking; includes extended standing periods.
• Requires ownership of personal transportation.

Additional Information

• Budgetary responsibility ranges between $500,001 and $1,500,000.
• Candidate must be bondable for security purposes.
• Preferred education level: College/CEGEP.
• Required experience: Between 3 to 5 years in relevant roles.
