Resource Advisor

Overview

Join the Consents and Compliance Team as a Resource Advisor based in Masterton, serving the Greater Wellington region. This role is ideal for recent graduates or individuals aiming to develop practical experience in resource management within a collaborative and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-application advice relating to natural resource management for rural activities.
• Manage the processing of resource consent applications from start to finish.
• Conduct compliance monitoring including site inspections to ensure adherence to consent conditions.
• Respond promptly to environmental incidents, undertaking investigations and enforcement actions as required.
• Collaborate effectively with landowners, industry representatives, iwi groups, community organizations, and other stakeholders.

Required Skills and Experience

• Hold or currently pursuing a qualification in planning, geography, or relevant science discipline.
• Familiarity with the Resource Management Act (RMA) is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Demonstrate motivation, practical judgment, and a positive, proactive approach.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Strong attention to detail paired with outstanding customer service skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks effectively, and maintain customer expectations.

The total remuneration range is $79,995 to $119,993 annually, depending on experience and skills, with a midpoint of $99,994. This is a Living Wage accredited employer. Proof of eligibility to work in New Zealand is a requirement as sponsorship is not provided.
