Overview
Element Materials Technology is expanding its team and seeks a Resident Surveyor to join the operations group. This role involves performing various routine and specialized surveying tasks within the assigned department, ensuring timely and accurate results with limited supervision. Key focuses include strict adherence to safety protocols, company standards, and code of conduct.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Organize and oversee site surveying activities, managing schedules to ensure smooth project progress while verifying survey control points to meet regulatory standards.
- Handle onsite data processing and maintain surveying equipment such as total stations and leveling instruments in good working order.
- Perform periodic site inspections for quality control purposes related to projects.
- Conduct regular training sessions to enhance and update surveying skills within the team.
- Support the production team by creating shop drawings, as-built survey charts, and adjusting setting-out work as needed.
- Establish survey points and levels at project sites accurately.
- Plan and coordinate daily surveying operations efficiently.
- Lead the team to ensure data collection is timely, effective, and precise.
- Attend site meetings and engage constructively with clients on land surveying issues, proposing alternative solutions when necessary.
Qualifications and Skills
- Degree in Land Surveying, Engineering Surveying, or a closely related discipline, with relevant technical membership in a learned society.
- At least five years of professional experience working as a surveyor.
