Job Overview
The Reporting Engineer position at QD-SBG Construction is pivotal in providing senior leadership with precise, timely, and consistent insights on the company’s entire project portfolio. This role focuses on aggregating data related to progress, costs, resources, and risks, then transforming that into clear executive reports and dashboards to highlight critical issues requiring management action.
Key Responsibilities
- Compile weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports summarizing portfolio status for senior management.
- Create and maintain executive dashboards tracking progress, cash flow, manpower, safety, and quality metrics.
- Write succinct executive summaries that detail project conditions, highlight major discrepancies, and specify required decisions.
- Develop presentation materials for various management forums, board meetings, and client progress sessions.
- Continuously monitor and analyze project progress by comparing planned versus actual performance against approved baselines.
- Keep watch on milestones, critical path tasks, and upcoming activities, alerting stakeholders of any potential delays at the earliest opportunity.
- Manage issue logs and risk registers, detailing key risks, respective owners, and mitigation strategies.
- Track all client and consultant communications, including RFIs, submittals, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and change orders.
- Define and enforce reporting standards including templates, formats, and submission deadlines to ensure uniformity across the portfolio.
- Verify that contractor reports submitted to clients align with internal management documentation.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a relevant field.
- Between 6 and 10 years of professional experience in construction infrastructure projects.
- At least 4 years focused on project controls, planning, or reporting functions.
- Experience working on the contractor side of major infrastructure developments.
- Demonstrated expertise in preparing management-level reports covering multiple simultaneous projects.
