About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Safety Engineer to join our team for industrial projects in Jamnagar, Gujarat. The ideal candidate will hold a B.E./B.Tech degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering and possess ADIS/PDIS certification from a State Government-recognized institution. This position requires substantial experience in overseeing health, safety, and environmental (HSE) protocols on project sites to maintain compliance and promote a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the effective implementation and adherence to HSE standards across the project site.
- Carry out thorough site safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments regularly.
- Monitor all construction activities, ensuring work permits and statutory regulations are properly managed.
- Review important safety documentation including Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Method Statements, Risk Assessments, and Permit to Work (PTW) systems.
- Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, and organize training and awareness sessions for staff.
- Investigate incidents such as accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, and suggest appropriate corrective measures.
- Evaluate contractor safety performance and ensure compliance with project-specific HSE requirements.
- Promote the correct usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and enforce safe working practices.
- Coordinate emergency preparedness drills and manage response activities effectively.
- Maintain comprehensive HSE records, including reports, accident data, and compliance documentation.
- Work collaboratively with project teams, contractors, and management to cultivate a strong safety culture.
- Guarantee ongoing compliance with all applicable statutory regulations and internal HSE policies.
Requirements
- Between 5 to 9 years of professional experience in safety management within industrial construction projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (B.E./B.Tech).
- Mandatory possession of ADIS/PDIS certification from a recognized State Government institute.
- Experience in handling safety within industrial plants, manufacturing facilities, refineries, petrochemical units, power sectors, infrastructure projects, or similarly large-scale construction environments.
- Strong expertise in construction safety protocols, permit systems, hazard identification, and risk management methodologies.
- Hands-on experience conducting safety audits, investigating incidents, and delivering safety training programs.
- Excellent communication abilities coupled with leadership and coordination skills.
- Willingness and ability to work on-site at the Jamnagar project location.
