Overview

The Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team is essential in ensuring continuous operation of critical machinery within the facility. As an RME Technician, you will be tasked with maintaining diverse equipment and working areas, all while strictly adhering to health and safety protocols. Your role helps maintain the safety of your colleagues and minimizes equipment downtime, thereby enhancing equipment availability and the overall operational environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform proactive and preventive maintenance on a variety of site machinery.
  • Conduct reactive repairs and diagnose faults within an active distribution warehouse setting.
  • Utilize the latest tools and techniques to maximize the efficiency and reliability of equipment.
  • Comply fully with established health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the training and development of apprentices present at the site.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and help implement best practices across multiple European sites.

Typical Workday

Based on-site for immediate response, you will undertake scheduled maintenance tasks to assure machine safety and functionality. You will address breakdowns swiftly by investigating and applying practical solutions. Collaboration with senior technicians and external contractors will be part of your daily routine. Working various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, ensures the site is consistently operational to meet demanding delivery schedules.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent credential.
  • NFQ Level 3 or equivalent certification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics, or a completed four-year accredited apprenticeship (Ireland/UK).
  • Flexible availability to work during weekends, nights, and public holidays.
  • Completed an indentured engineering apprenticeship and/or qualification of at least NVQ Level 3 or similar in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Relevant experience as a certified engineer in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance.
  • Proficient communication skills in the local language, both spoken and written.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience with material handling equipment (MHE) safety standards, adhering to original equipment manufacturer (OEM) guidelines.
  • Familiarity with robotic systems operation and maintenance.
