Job description
Position Overview
This 15-month fixed-term full-time role begins in October 2026 with the possibility of extension or permanency. The position supports the Regional Education Offices in Western Australia by ensuring consistent application of policies and promoting educational outcomes across schools.
Regional Context
The Kimberley region has 23 public schools serving over 5,250 students, ranging from urban to remote community settings, offering a diverse teaching environment.
Role Responsibilities
The successful candidate will lead and support the deployment of attendance monitoring procedures to engage non-attending and alienated students in education. They will advise principals and staff on attendance strategies and compliance, assist School Based Attendance Officers (SBAOs) in policies and home visits, and manage regional system initiatives related to attendance.
Additional duties include monitoring attendance strategies and student exemptions, collaborating with Aboriginal Education Coordinators, School Psychology Services, and Participation staff to address educational risks and appropriate student placements.

Eligibility Criteria
- Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or holder of a valid visa with appropriate work rights for the appointment period
- Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and possession of a Screening Clearance Number from the Department of Education Screening Unit prior to commencement
- Holding or obtaining a current Working with Children Check
