Overview
Whānau Āwhina Plunket is a charitable organization dedicated to supporting the health and wellbeing of tamariki (children under five) and their whānau across Aotearoa. Rooted in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and guided by the values Māia, Tūhono, Manaaki, and Māhaki, we strive to ensure every child and family can achieve optimal health.
This permanent full-time position is preferably based at our head office located in Wellington Central. The Recruitment Advisor will be a critical member of the People team focused on delivering responsive, practical, and values-driven recruitment guidance to leaders throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with hiring managers to create compelling, inclusive, and targeted job advertisements.
- Implement sourcing strategies to attract a diverse and high-quality talent pool.
- Support leaders throughout the recruitment lifecycle, including screening, shortlisting, interviewing, and final selection.
- Prepare role-specific interview questions and selection materials tailored to hiring needs.
- Manage interview coordination and maintain prompt, considerate communication with candidates.
- Advise on position and FTE management aligned with workforce plans and budget constraints.
- Represent Whānau Āwhina Plunket at recruitment events and employment initiatives.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of three years' experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, or HR advisory roles.
- Proven ability to manage end-to-end recruitment processes across various job types.
- Thorough understanding of New Zealand employment legislation and recruitment best practices.
- Advanced interviewing, candidate evaluation, and selection skills.
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building abilities.
- A proactive and collaborative mindset focused on continuous improvement.
- Commitment to equitable recruitment practices with the confidence to challenge and uphold fair, consistent, and values-based hiring decisions.
