Recreation Attendant

Overview

As a Recreation Attendant, you will ensure that all recreational areas, including the gym, poolside, kids club, and game room, are maintained in a clean, safe, and orderly condition. You will assist guests in utilizing spa facilities such as the sauna, steam room, and hot tub while upholding strict adherence to health and safety regulations and embodying the image of the recreation and fitness center.

Daily Responsibilities

• Maintain tidiness and orderliness of gym equipment and areas.
• Ensure cleanliness of reception, changing rooms, poolside, gym, kids club, and game room.
• Promote recreational facilities to hotel guests and encourage membership enrollment.
• Supervise the Kids Club and game room activities.
• Report any malfunctioning lighting or mechanical equipment promptly.
• Assist guests in using spa amenities such as sauna, steam, and hot tub.
• Answer phone calls at the recreation reception, take messages, and provide information.
• Comply with all applicable health and safety standards.
• Maintain a professional demeanor and physical fitness appropriate for the role.

Additional Duties

• Communicate effectively with other hotel departments.
• Adapt to a flexible work schedule.
• Participate in required meetings and training sessions.
• Identify and suggest improvements in service delivery and product offerings to exceed client expectations.
• Ensure adoption of safe work practices and report any occupational health and safety concerns immediately.
• Meet hotel standards for room presentation and productivity targets.
• Focus on guest satisfaction and act on feedback.
• Complete supervised tasks within service standards and deadlines.

Qualifications and Personal Traits

• Ability to read, write, and speak English; Arabic language skills are a plus but not required.
• Previous experience in recreation or housekeeping roles is preferred.
• Knowledge of proper manual handling techniques.
• Energetic with a positive, ‘can-do’ attitude.
• Professionally groomed and able to work independently.
