Role Summary

The Radiography Technologist (Sonographer) is tasked with conducting diagnostic ultrasound procedures to aid precise clinical diagnoses and patient management. Responsibilities include generating superior imaging quality, ensuring patient comfort and safety, and collaborating effectively with physicians to provide timely care. This key role contributes significantly to the high standards of patient-centered care and clinical excellence upheld by Amana Healthcare.

Primary Responsibilities

• Carry out diverse diagnostic ultrasound scans such as abdominal, vascular, musculoskeletal, and additional specialized exams as needed.
• Manage and operate ultrasound equipment to maintain peak image quality and ensure patient safety.
• Capture accurate diagnostic images, distinguishing between normal and abnormal results for physician analysis.
• Work closely with radiologists and referring doctors, providing preliminary image assessments to facilitate clinical diagnosis.
• Prepare patients appropriately, clarify procedure details, and offer comfort to improve patient experience.
• Observe patient condition during procedures and react suitably to any adverse events.
• Keep detailed patient records and update imaging data in PACS and hospital information systems.
• Follow strict infection control measures, safety protocols, and regulatory guidelines to maintain a secure clinical environment.
• Comply with Department of Health (DOH) regulations and internal imaging procedure policies.
• Support quality enhancement activities and pursue ongoing professional development.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Radiography, Radiologic Technology, or Medical/Diagnostic Imaging is mandatory.
• Relevant sonography certification or specialization is highly desirable.
• Between two to five years of professional experience in sonography or diagnostic imaging following qualification.
• Previous work experience within an accredited healthcare establishment (e.g., JCIA) is preferred.
• Must hold a valid DOH (Abu Dhabi) license as a Radiography Technologist or Sonographer.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
• Additional certifications such as Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) may be necessary depending on specialty area.
