Quantity Surveyor / Cost Control Engineer

About the Role

Double Marks Contracting is inviting experienced Quantity Surveyors / Cost Control Engineers to be part of a significant Data Center project based in Riyadh. The role involves close collaboration with the Project Manager to oversee various commercial and quantity surveying aspects, including cost control and progress tracking.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze Bills of Quantities (BOQs), construction drawings, project specifications, and contractual guidelines.
• Conduct thorough quantity takeoffs focusing on civil and structural elements.
• Measure quantities related to excavation, concrete works, reinforcement, and formwork.
• Implement and maintain systems for cost tracking and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
• Monitor budget status, commitments, actual expenditures, and forecast costs to completion.
• Develop progress measurement metrics and prepare payment application documents.
• Assess subcontractor quantity submissions and associated payment requests.
• Create commercial evaluations for Requests for Quotations (RFQs) and procurement activities.
• Identify, quantify, and monitor all project variations and change orders effectively.
• Reconcile measured quantities with BOQs, drawings, and actual site conditions.
• Supervise unit costs and overall project spending.
• Generate detailed cost reports and forecast cash flow updates for project management review.

Candidate Requirements

• Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Bring a minimum of five years’ experience in quantity surveying or cost control roles.
• Demonstrate solid expertise in civil engineering and reinforced concrete construction activities.
• Exhibit excellent skills in quantity takeoffs and site measurements.
• Have an in-depth understanding of BOQs, contract variations, progress billing procedures, and subcontractor quantity valuations.
• Show proficiency in advanced Excel applications for data analysis and reporting.
• Experience working within Saudi Arabia or the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) is preferred.
• Prior involvement in Data Center construction, industrial projects, or large-scale construction endeavors is advantageous.
• Possess strong commercial awareness alongside sharp analytical capabilities.
• Preference will be given to candidates already residing in Saudi Arabia and available for prompt mobilization.
