Quantity Surveyor (Construction)

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to handle construction project financial management tasks. This role involves preparing and following up on monthly progress claims, estimating costs, tendering, contract submissions, and overseeing project-related commercial matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly progress claims, follow up on submissions, and assess completed work with the appropriate documentation.
• Create detailed cost estimates, quotations, and tender documents for contract submissions.
• Analyze tender requirements, drawings, specifications, and bills of quantities thoroughly.
• Perform quantity take-offs and break down project costs accurately.
• Review and evaluate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Manage variation orders, additional work claims, and prepare final accounts responsibly.
• Verify subcontractor progress claims and provide recommendations for payment.
• Communicate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, and project teams regarding commercial and contractual issues.
• Maintain organized records of contracts, claims, variations, and correspondence related to projects.
• Ensure all tender submissions and claims are precise and submitted within deadlines.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, Construction Management, or closely related fields.
• Proven experience in handling construction progress claims and tender submissions.
• Solid understanding of construction contracts, costing methods, and quantity measurement techniques.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and specialized quantity surveying software.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational capabilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage tight deadlines.
