About the Role
Our client, a reputable main contractor, is looking to expand their Commercial Team in Cork with Quantity Surveyors at various levels, including Intermediate, Senior, and Lead positions. This role involves handling the commercial management of construction projects throughout Cork and the Munster region, supporting a strong project pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all commercial activities in construction projects from subcontractor procurement up to the final account settlement.
- Prepare and manage tender packages and procurement processes for subcontractors.
- Manage valuations, variations, cost tracking, and forecasting of projects.
- Monitor project expenditure versus budgets, identifying and mitigating commercial risks.
- Handle subcontractor accounts, payments, and final account reconciliations.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers and Site Teams to ensure budget compliance and project financial control.
- Provide comprehensive commercial reports and maintain detailed project documentation.
Candidate Requirements
- Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably with main contractors.
- Proven skills in subcontractor procurement, handling valuations, managing variations, and final accounts.
- Thorough understanding of construction contracts and commercial management principles.
- Experience in sectors such as residential, commercial, healthcare, or education projects is advantageous.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational abilities.
- Suitable for candidates from Intermediate to Lead Quantity Surveyor levels.
