Job Overview

The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for handling quantity take-offs and cost estimations in construction projects, ensuring meticulous tracking of budgets and material procurement.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform quantity take-offs and prepare cost estimates for construction materials and work.
• Manage material ordering and monitor budgets specifically for primary materials such as rebars and tiles.
• Handle measurements, payment responses, and variation orders for subcontractors.
• Prepare tender submissions within strict deadlines.
• Source, negotiate with, and award contracts to vendors effectively.
• Administer tendering and contract documents, including preparing bills of quantities, cost estimation, control, and budgeting.
• Oversee actual construction costs against contracted work quality standards.
• Ensure costs are controlled and remain within allocated budgets throughout the project lifecycle.
• Advise project teams on contractual rights and arbitration procedures in case of disputes.
• Conduct thorough assessments of costs and schedules for all project activities.

Qualifications and Skills

• Possession of a Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying.
• At least 2 years of pertinent experience within the construction sector.
• Strong numerical skills with keen attention to detail.
• Effective oral and written communication capabilities.
• Ability to meet demanding deadlines.
• Familiarity with construction materials and common procurement practices.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office suite, and Bluebeam software.
• Additional knowledge of Building Construction Works, Singapore Contract Laws, and related regulations is a distinct advantage.
