About the Role
We seek skilled researchers eager to advance their careers within quantitative finance. The challenges at Susquehanna differ from academic pursuits but require brilliant minds with precision and a persistent drive for insight.
Responsibilities
- Engage deeply with market data using tools from mathematics, statistics, and programming to investigate new ideas.
- Generate new project concepts originating from yourself, mentors, or colleagues.
- Identify novel patterns that could develop into trading signals through thorough research.
- Collaborate closely with technology teams to backtest research findings and implement trading signals into live systems.
- Continuously analyze and refine trading strategies embedded in electronic trading platforms.
- Participate in discussions with researchers, strategists, and traders to collect feedback and brainstorm additional ideas.
- Initiate new quantitative projects based on collaborative insights from ongoing strategy work.
- Engage in a structured orientation program bridging academic theory with practical industry skills, including options pricing, proprietary dataset exposure, and data analysis practice.
- Benefit from continuous learning through interactions on our trading floor.
Requirements
- PhD qualification in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, physics, statistics, electrical engineering, computer science, operations research, or economics.
- Outstanding capabilities in solving complex mathematical problems.
- Effective communication skills suited to dynamic, collaborative environments.
- Strong practical programming proficiency focusing on efficient and reliable task execution rather than specific language expertise.
- Demonstrated history of conducting in-depth research projects.
- Previous experience in finance is not mandatory.
- Eligibility for visa sponsorship is provided if necessary.
