Role Overview
The Quantitative Developer will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining quantitative analytics, algorithmic trading tools, and pricing technology for ADSS's front office. This position involves creating high-performance solutions mainly using KDB+ and integrating them with languages like Java, Python, and C++. The role requires close collaboration with quantitative researchers, traders, and technology teams to deliver scalable and reliable support for trading, research activities, and business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and uphold KDB+-based software and analytics pipelines supporting trading, pricing, and algorithmic strategies.
- Engage in the entire software development lifecycle including requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and documentation.
- Integrate KDB+ systems with Java, C++, Python, and other platforms for enhanced access to trading analytics and market data.
- Collaborate with quantitative researchers, traders, and technical teams to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Implement and improve data acquisition, quality assurance, validation, and time series management tools across asset classes.
- Advocate and adhere to Agile/DevOps methodologies such as code reviews, continuous integration, and team sprint cycles.
- Troubleshoot production analytics concerns and provide third-level technical support to identify root causes and resolve issues.
- Maintain exceptional standards for software quality, version control, and documentation processes.
- Keep informed about advances in quantitative technology and introduce innovative approaches to technical challenges.
Collaborations
This position regularly interacts with internal teams like Sales, Risk, Compliance, Product, Technology, Operations, and Senior Leadership, as well as external parties including counterparties, liquidity providers, prime brokers, technology vendors, and regulators.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a STEM discipline such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, or related fields.
Experience
- A minimum of 3 and up to 5 years of experience in quantitative development within trading, market data, or financial services sectors.
- Strong practical experience working with KDB+/Q and preferred experience integrating with Java, Python, or C++ environments.
Skills and Competencies
- Expertise in KDB+ programming and Linux-based system development.
- Working knowledge of Agile software development processes including testing and release management.
- Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Meticulous attention to code quality, detail orientation, and ensuring software reliability.
