Role Overview - Quality Technician 3 (Back End Night Shift)

This permanent, non-rotational night shift role (Friday to Sunday and alternate Thursdays from 7pm to 7am) offers a shift schedule designed around life balance, including working only 14 days every 28 with paid breaks during 12-hour shifts. This shift enables employees to enjoy daytime with family and pursue activities such as education or fitness.

Quality Technicians serve as subject matter experts with 4-6 years' experience in fast-paced manufacturing environments, supporting quality processes and compliance, driving continuous improvement, and making key manufacturing-floor decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Quality Engineering with Change Order processing, Nonconformance Events (NCEs), Nonconforming Material Reports (NCMRs), and CAPA investigations.
  • Gather manufacturing and inspection data and assist in inspections supporting investigations.
  • Maintain a presence on the manufacturing floor, aiding inspection teams with method and specification queries.
  • Ensure compliance with internal procedures and regulatory standards including GMP, GLP, ISO, and Six Sigma.
  • Update and maintain quality assurance procedures and protocols.
  • Verify manufacturing processes adhere to quality systems and regulatory requirements for global distribution.
  • Assist investigations into nonconforming materials collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Conduct routine line audits to confirm system compliance and effectiveness.
  • Provide quality support to Engineering and Operations by addressing production quality issues and driving corrective actions.
  • Identify and contribute to quality and process improvement initiatives.
  • Communicate concerns regarding work processes, environmental, health, or safety issues promptly.
  • Interpret specifications, inspection criteria, and engineering drawings using appropriate inspection tools.
  • Demonstrate independent decision making with minimal supervision, and support junior technician training as needed.
  • Utilize intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Maintain rigorous attention to detail and documentation standards.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Level 6 qualification in Quality or a related discipline.
  • Minimum two years’ experience in a regulated manufacturing industry, preferably medical devices.
  • Familiarity with ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR Part 11 and 820 regulations.
  • Experience with cross-site or global system projects, and audits including FDA, BSI, or MDSAP.
  • Proficiency with manufacturing systems such as MES, ERP, or QMS software.
