Role Overview
We are advancing our quality engineering and automation expertise and seek a Chapter Lead to guide a skilled team of specialists. This role involves establishing and refining standards, practices, and methodologies that support superior software and data engineering outputs. You will foster a culture prioritizing quality and continuous improvement across technology teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and execute the capability development roadmap for quality engineering and automation.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performance chapter of quality professionals.
- Design and implement sensible quality standards, frameworks, and engineering methods.
- Support adoption of contemporary testing, automation, and quality engineering approaches.
- Collaborate with Domain Leads, Delivery Leads, Software and Data Engineers to enhance delivery results.
- Research and integrate new tools, technologies, and AI innovations to boost quality and operational efficiency.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will combine strong technical insight with leadership skills and influence across teams. Backgrounds in quality engineering, automation, or software engineering are suitable, focusing on capability elevation, standard setting, and team success facilitation.
- Expertise in quality engineering, automation, and modern software delivery strategies.
- Proven experience in leading, coaching, and developing technical teams.
- Effective influencer among engineering, delivery, and technology stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and pragmatic problem-solving abilities.
- Strategic thinking paired with readiness for hands-on involvement.
Desirable, though not mandatory:
- Experience scaling quality engineering or automation capabilities.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructures, APIs, data platforms, or digital environments.
- Knowledge of CI/CD practices, quality engineering tools, or relevant certifications.

Flexible working is supported, with primary office hubs in Wellington, Auckland, and Tauranga. The role requires proximity to a main hub to facilitate strong collaboration.
