About the Role

We are seeking a Quality Engineer to conduct thorough inspections of automotive components at different stages—incoming, in-process, and final. This position is offered on a contract basis and is located in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. Candidates with relevant educational qualifications in Mechanical, Automobile, Production, Manufacturing, or Mechatronics engineering are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed inspections of components using engineering drawings, specifications, and quality benchmarks.
  • Utilize measurement tools such as Vernier Calipers, Micrometers, and Gauges for dimensional verification.
  • Detect, document, and isolate defective or non-conforming parts to maintain quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate inspection reports and quality documentation for traceability.
  • Collaborate with Production and Quality Engineering teams to address and rectify quality issues.
  • Adhere to Control Plans, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions, and customer-mandated quality requirements.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives including 5S, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, and defect reduction efforts.
  • Comply with all safety and quality protocols throughout the inspection process.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Diploma, Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.), or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in relevant fields such as Mechanical, Automobile, Production, Manufacturing, or Mechatronics.
  • Understanding of automobile component manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Experience with dimensional inspection and measuring instruments.
  • Strong observational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Basic knowledge of quality tools, inspection procedures, and computer skills including MS Excel.
  • Willingness to work in shift-based schedules.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with prior exposure to automobile OEM environments or Tier-1/Tier-2 automotive component manufacturing, machining, welding, sheet metal work, assembly, or electric vehicle manufacturing are highly preferred.

Additional Information

This role requires maintaining proper documentation and ensuring traceability for all inspected components. The work location is in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, under the automobile manufacturing sector.

Compensation

The monthly salary range for this position is INR 18,000 to 25,000.
