Job description

About the Role

We are seeking three Process Engineers to join a growing engineering and manufacturing company located in Droitwich Spa. This hands-on role is focused on enhancing production efficiency, standardising processes, supporting quality initiatives, and driving continuous improvements within a low-volume, high-value engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deploy enhanced manufacturing process flows and improve production layouts to boost operational efficiency.
  • Evaluate production workflows to uncover opportunities for standardisation and continuous enhancement.
  • Create and update standardised work instructions, SOPs, visual standards, control plans, and process flow diagrams.
  • Conduct PFMEAs and apply DFMA principles to enhance manufacturability and assembly efficiency.
  • Manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and lead corrective and preventive actions using structured problem-solving approaches.
  • Implement Lean manufacturing techniques and modular build strategies to elevate production flow, quality, and consistency.
  • Keep detailed records of process modifications within Bill of Materials (BOM) structures and routing systems to ensure full traceability.
  • Assist production teams with practical process improvements, training, and sharing best practices.
  • Ensure compliance of manufacturing processes with health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Collaborate closely with Design, Quality, Production, and Supply Chain teams to enhance quality, cost control, and delivery performance.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Solid background in manufacturing or process engineering or a related role, preferably within process plants, HVAC, modular builds, or engineered products.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA), Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), control plans, process standardisation, and continuous improvement practices.
  • Experience in developing manufacturing process flows and optimising production layouts.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and trade skills within a practical production setting.
  • Proven ability to author SOPs, work instructions, visual standards, and training documentation.
  • Hands-on experience managing Non-Conformance Reports and implementing structured corrective actions.
  • Familiarity with BOM structures, routing systems, and ensuring traceability of process changes.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and modular build approaches.
  • Excellent project management, organisational capabilities, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Opportunity

This position offers an excellent chance to contribute significantly to a growing engineering operation where process enhancements directly influence production effectiveness, product quality, and cost management. You will have the opportunity to shape manufacturing processes, introduce innovative tooling and procedures, and work cross-functionally in a technically demanding environment.
