Job description
Job Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Quality Control Manager to oversee the Quality Department within a manufacturing enterprise specializing in casting, machining, fabrication, and allied fields. This role focuses on ensuring all products and processes align with customer expectations, engineering specifications, and established quality norms while fostering ongoing enhancement of quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Supervise incoming, in-process, and final product quality inspections to maintain rigorous standards.
- Oversee supplier and customer quality assurance activities to uphold product excellence.
- Verify adherence to engineering drawings, quality benchmarks, and internal procedures.
- Manage quality-related documentation including Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), Non-Conformance Reports (NCR), and perform root cause analyses.
- Execute quality audits involving internal teams, suppliers, and customers to ensure compliance.
- Facilitate continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies such as 7 QC tools, 8D problem solving, Kaizen, and Lean practices.
- Track and analyze quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) like Parts Per Million (PPM), On-Time Delivery (OTD), rejection rates, and inventory quality metrics.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Quality Control team while collaborating closely with production units and suppliers.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree, diploma, or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven expertise in casting, machining, fabrication, forging, welding, assembly, and outsourced manufacturing processes.
- Practical experience using measuring instruments and understanding Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and IATF quality management systems is preferred.
- Excellent leadership qualities along with strong problem-solving and communication abilities.
