Role Overview

The Quality Assurance Manager role at YooKatale is a full-time position based in Kampala with a hybrid work setup, allowing some days working from home. The incumbent will oversee the quality control measures across YooKatale's mobile platform, food marketplace operations, and associated services to maintain consistent, reliable, and safe experiences for users.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and execute quality assurance processes and protocols.
• Create and run comprehensive test plans covering functional, regression, and user acceptance tests.
• Monitor and analyze quality metrics and product/process performance data.
• Collaborate with product development, engineering, and operations teams to identify and resolve quality issues.
• Document defects and lead root cause analyses to implement corrective actions.
• Drive continuous improvement efforts to boost service reliability and customer satisfaction.
• Mentor and guide QA personnel while imparting best practice standards.
• Work cross-functionally to align quality initiatives with business goals and regulatory compliance.

Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience in quality management, including developing and applying QA frameworks, policies, and procedures.
• Strong expertise in test planning, test case development, and execution across multiple test types.
• Ability to evaluate data and metrics to uncover trends, assess performance, and promote continual enhancement.
• Familiar with digital and mobile platforms, ideally in e-commerce, food delivery, or marketplace contexts.
• Proficient with QA tools for issue tracking, documenting tests, and mapping processes.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to effectively liaise with diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong organizational aptitude and problem-solving capability with meticulous attention to detail and a proactive mindset on risk mitigation.
• Possession of a bachelor's degree in Quality Management, Engineering, Computer Science, Food Science, Business, or related discipline; certifications such as ISO or Six Sigma are advantageous.
• Experience in food systems, supply chain, or service operations within East Africa or comparable markets is a plus.
