Quality Assurance Automation Engineer

About the Role

As a key member of our team, you will drive the adoption of automated testing frameworks and develop state-of-the-art trading platforms that support UBS's Global Wealth Management business across Europe and APAC.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of designing, developing, and maintaining automated testing solutions.
• Develop technology-oriented solutions to solve business challenges, reinforcing the firm’s leadership in digital financial services.
• Leverage your expertise in test automation to enhance software quality and delivery.
• Analyze business needs, architect solutions, and incrementally improve software components.
• Disseminate quality assurance best practices and process expertise across the team.
• Actively participate in the enhancement and expansion of the Testing Automation Framework.
• Engage in agile project planning, including estimations and process improvements.
• Provide mentorship and support to fellow team members.
• Adapt to performing manual testing when required, showcasing flexibility.

The Team Environment

Our agile setup organizes teams into integrated crews aligned with broader product and service goals, delivering seamless digital trading experiences covering the entire securities trading lifecycle. You will collaborate closely with global business and IT teams to develop and continually refine trading applications.

Required Skills and Experience

• Senior-level experience in QA Automation with strong skills in JavaScript, TypeScript, and Java programming languages.
• Proficiency with UI test automation tools such as Playwright and Selenium.
• Experience applying test-driven development methodologies including Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) to facilitate continuous delivery.
• Responsibility for creating, executing, and maintaining automated test scripts.
• Familiarity with Kafka is a plus.
• Ability to design automated test cases grounded on user story acceptance criteria.
• Collaborate closely with development teams to build quality solutions, balancing speed and thoroughness in support of continuous integration.
• Serve as a quality anchor during development and releases by identifying issues and coordinating resolutions.
• Continuously optimize CI/CD pipelines and tools working with agile programs, software engineers, and architects.
• Investigate software defects and implement effective automated test remediation strategies.
• Contribute to architecture and solution design within the platform.
• Demonstrate flexibility, resilience, interpersonal skills, and an independent, initiative-driven approach adhering to servant leadership principles.

Desirable Experience

• Interest or experience in financial industry domains such as Order Management, Electronic Trading, or Securities Trading.
