Full Stack Java Developer - Wealth Management Private Clients (WMPC) CTO

Job Overview

This position is a full-time role based in Doha, Qatar, for the Wealth Management Private Clients (WMPC) CTO team within UBS. The main objective is to contribute to the development and maintenance of in-house applications designed to ensure exceptional quality and operational stability for WMPC.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain various software components supporting WMPC applications.
• Collaborate with WMPC stakeholders to analyze and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Architect and deliver sustainable software solutions employing modern programming languages and frameworks.
• Provide expert technical evaluation and recommendations for new software projects to enhance current applications.
• Perform code reviews, conduct software tests, and participate actively in the software development lifecycle including architecture and design stages.
• Implement operational controls and procedures to facilitate smooth transitions from testing environments to production.
• Support, maintain, and upgrade existing tools and technologies within the WMPC ecosystem.

The WMPC CTO team at UBS focuses on empowering the WMPC application groups by leading innovation and transformation within the WMPC Technology organization. This includes delivering standardized, modern quality assurance practices and automation strategies designed to improve efficiency and ensure high-quality, stable software products.

Required Skills and Experience

• Proficiency in software engineering and development technologies including Java, TypeScript, React, HTML, CSS, PostgreSQL, RESTful web services, and Spring Boot microservices development.
• Familiarity with Azure cloud services and experience with DevOps tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
• Competence in applying software development lifecycle standards, tools, and techniques such as Git, DevOps pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, monitoring/observability systems, and automated testing frameworks.
• Ability to produce secure, clean, stable, and efficient code.
• Experience designing and delivering solutions at scale within large enterprise environments.
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or an equivalent field, focusing on cloud technologies and microservices development.
• At least 8 years of hands-on experience in relevant software development roles.
• Desirable knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) concepts and technologies.
• Strong understanding of Agile Scrum methodology and practices.
