QC Electrical Inspector

Job Overview

We are looking for a seasoned QC Electrical Inspector to oversee and verify the quality of electrical installations, testing, and inspections at project locations throughout Saudi Arabia. This position demands thorough expertise in electrical inspection protocols, inspection test plans, quality assurance and control documentation, electrical blueprint reading, relevant codes and standards, and specific Saudi Aramco project prerequisites.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of electrical installation activities to ensure conformance with approved electrical drawings, specifications, ITPs, method statements, and project standards.
• Examine installations involving cables, cable trays, conduits, switchgear, transformers, motor control centers, distribution boards, panels, lighting systems, earthing, and other electrical devices.
• Verify proper cable installation, including laying, routing, identification, glanding, termination, dressing, and connections.
• Inspect installation of low, medium, and high voltage equipment, including electrical panels, junction boxes, lighting, and distribution networks as applicable.
• Ensure that electrical equipment is correctly installed with appropriate alignment, clearances, support structures, connections, and tagging per approved drawings.
• Oversee and confirm tests related to continuity, insulation resistance (Megger), earth resistance, high voltage, functionality, and additional electrical examinations where relevant.
• Review and verify test reports, calibration and material certificates, inspection logs, and QA/QC documentation for accuracy and adherence to standards.
• Ensure full compliance with approved inspection test plans, procedural guidelines, project specs, and Saudi Aramco regulations.
• Identify non-conformances, initiate non-conformance reports and observations, and track corrective measures through to resolution.
• Collaborate with construction teams, subcontractors, clients, and third-party inspectors to facilitate smooth workflow.
• Maintain comprehensive records including inspection reports, checklists, test documentation, punch lists, and turnover documentation.
• Support electrical pre-commissioning, commissioning, project completion, and client handover stages.

Mandatory Qualifications and Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant technical discipline.
• At least six years of practical experience as a QC Electrical Inspector, with a minimum of six years spent working within Gulf region projects.
• Current valid CBT (Computer Based Training) certification where required.
• Possess valid Saudi Aramco approvals or demonstrated experience in Saudi Aramco projects.
• In-depth knowledge of electrical inspection, installation techniques, test procedures, ITPs, and QA/QC documentation processes.
• Strong grasp of applicable standards including IEC, IEEE, NFPA, NEC, project requirements, and Saudi Aramco standards.
• Preference given to candidates who are currently residing in Saudi Arabia.
