QA Competent Assessor

Position Overview

The role involves executing System and Software Quality Assurance (SQA) tasks that independently validate and provide transparency to both project teams and management. The goal is to ensure that deliverables satisfy defined quality standards and that the team’s activities align with established common processes and authorized project plans.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead quality assurance and compliance initiatives throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Assist in developing project Quality Assurance Plans which specify required gate reviews, audits, assessments, quality objectives, and KPIs.
• Conduct and authorize Aptiv Product Development Process (PDP) gate reviews in collaboration with teams and leadership.
• Perform process assessments, work product audits, and capability evaluations specifically using Automotive SPICE methodology.
• Document non-conformances and follow up until they are resolved prior to delivery.
• Approve or halt software deliveries based on quality compliance.
• Coordinate quality assurance activities in sync with project plans.
• Report SQA-related activities and escalate quality concerns to SQA management.
• Communicate with customers regarding system, software, and independent testing and verification quality topics, audit plans, and action tracking.
• Ensure that engineering teams properly execute problem-solving procedures for software-related field issues.

Candidate Profile

• 7+ years of professional experience, ideally between 6 to 13 years, in the automotive industry.
• Preferred certification as an Intacs ASPICE Competent Assessor.
• Experience working as a Systems or Software Engineer on engineering development teams.
• Familiarity with Configuration Management and Project Management tools.
• Knowledge of development process capability maturity models such as Automotive SPICE and CMMI.
• Desirable qualifications include knowledge or certification in IATF 16949, ISO 9001, Automotive SPICE, ISO 15504, Functional Safety ISO 26262, Agile, Lean, and Six Sigma methodologies.
