Purchase Manager - Raw Materials & Packaging

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Purchase Manager to oversee the procurement of raw and packaging materials for cosmetic manufacturing. The candidate will manage vendor sourcing, negotiation, purchase orders, inventory monitoring, and ensure compliance with company policies and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Procure raw materials and packaging components like chemicals, oils, fragrances, herbal extracts, active ingredients, bottles, jars, tubes, cartons, and labels necessary for cosmetic production.
• Identify and cultivate dependable vendors for all required materials.
• Request and evaluate quotations, negotiate pricing and commercial terms, and finalize purchase agreements.
• Liaise closely with Production, Planning, Stores, QA/QC, and Accounts departments to guarantee timely procurement and availability of materials.
• Monitor stock levels to avoid shortages or overstocking by planning purchases efficiently.
• Assess supplier performance based on quality, cost, and delivery adherence.
• Follow up with suppliers to ensure prompt deliveries and resolve any procurement challenges.
• Maintain accurate purchase records, vendor databases, and procurement documentation.
• Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company guidelines and quality standards.
• Generate procurement reports and MIS for management evaluation.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in procurement.
• Graduate degree required; MBA or PGDM in Supply Chain, Materials Management, or Operations is preferred.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management capabilities.
• Familiarity with raw materials and packaging used in cosmetics, personal care, pharmaceutical, or FMCG sectors.
• Understanding of inventory control, purchase planning, and supply chain operations.
• Hands-on experience with ERP or Purchase Management Software and proficient in MS Excel.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and coordination skills.
• Ability to manage procurement processes independently while juggling multiple tasks.

Salary Range: ₹30,000 to ₹40,000 per month, depending on experience and interview outcomes.
