About the Role
The Purchase Executive position within the textile sector involves managing the complete process of sourcing and procuring essential raw materials, fabrics, trims, accessories, and packaging needed for apparel and fabric production.
Key Duties
- Identify and purchase quality raw inputs such as yarn, greige and dyed fabrics, buttons, zippers, and labels at competitive market prices.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiate favorable pricing and payment terms, and assess supplier performance continuously.
- Prepare purchase orders and monitor shipment status to ensure timely arrival of materials for the production line.
- Oversee inventory levels to avoid shortages or surplus, coordinating closely with warehouse and production personnel.
- Keep accurate procurement documentation including purchase records, invoices, and MIS reports, utilizing software such as MS Excel and ERP systems.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of various fabric classifications, garment accessories, and current textile market dynamics.
- Effective negotiation skills to reduce costs without compromising on quality.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and enterprise resource planning software for procurement management.
- Experience typically between one to five years in roles related to purchasing, supply chain, or retail merchandising.
