Psychologist

About the Role

APM New Zealand is inviting expressions of interest from qualified Psychologists to join their ACC services team based in Dunedin and Queenstown. The roles available include both assessment and treatment positions within mental injury and neuropsychological services, incorporating MICPI, WRMI assessments, and evidence-based treatments across various programs including Psychological Services, Pain Management, Concussion, and Training for Independence.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver evidence-based psychological treatments such as CBT, ACT, EMDR, and trauma-informed therapy focusing on functional rehabilitation and outcome-oriented interventions.
• Perform mental injury and neuropsychological assessments independently, including diagnosis, causation analysis, functional impact evaluation, and ACC-aligned reporting.
• Manage a manageable caseload across diverse contracts, including ACC Sensitive Claims, Psychological Services, Training for Independence, Pain Management Services, Police referrals, and private clients.
• Produce high-quality clinical assessments and reports.
• Collaborate actively in multidisciplinary treatment teams.

Qualifications and Experience

• Hold a Master's degree or higher in Psychology accredited by the New Zealand Psychologists Board.
• Maintain current registration with the Psychologists Board of New Zealand and possess a valid Annual Practicing Certificate (APC).
• Demonstrate expertise in evidence-based talking therapies like CBT, EMDR, DBT, Schema Therapy, and ACT.
• Exhibit strong skills in clinical formulation, documentation, and multidisciplinary teamwork.
• For neuropsychology roles, have postgraduate neuropsychological training and vocational registration as a clinical or neuropsychologist with graduate-level coursework in Neuropsychology.
• Possess proficiency in diagnostic frameworks such as DSM-5-TR or ICD 10/11 and training in psychopathology.
• Hold a current full New Zealand driver’s license and be either a NZ/Australian citizen or hold a valid New Zealand work visa.
