Proposals Engineer

Job Summary

An established engineering fabrication company in Scunthorpe is seeking a full-time permanent Proposals Engineer. This multifaceted role involves managing proposals, facilitating internal communication, handling procurement activities, and supporting workshop operations to ensure smooth project execution.

Role Responsibilities

• Create and cost quotations and proposals using MS Office suite and SAP software.
• Complete estimating cost sheets and manage the approval workflow.
• Track and report on workshop production jobs, on-site assignments, and spare parts orders.
• Formulate project plans and maintain communication with clients regarding project progress.
• Maintain records such as enquiry registers and manage the CRM database.
• Handle customer order processing and prepare electronic job documentation.
• Offer daily manufacturing and technical assistance to the workshop team.
• Source and negotiate pricing with suppliers to obtain competitive rates.

Required Skills and Experience

• Proven experience working in a fabrication workshop environment.
• Commercial acumen with experience in preparing proposals, either in a dedicated role or combined with other functions.
• Capability to effectively prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Proficient computer skills.
