About the Role
Join Qatar Airways as a Projects Manager for IFEC (In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity) and Connected Cabin, leading initiatives to enhance and transform the airline's inflight entertainment, passenger connectivity, and integrated connected cabin experience across their fleet. You will oversee new passenger-facing technology rollouts, platform upgrades, seatback interface improvements, and content deployment projects to elevate customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and uphold project governance structures, including milestone tracking, approvals, risk escalation, and accountability throughout project lifecycles.
- Create, update, and monitor detailed project schedules, action logs, and delivery trackers aligned with the overall program plan.
- Manage scope, resource allocation, dependencies, and deliverables to keep projects on track.
- Track project progress relative to scope, timeline, budget, and quality targets, escalating issues independently when necessary.
- Plan and monitor fleet-wide deployment and platform dependencies.
- Translate approved product designs, user journeys, and requirements into executable delivery and testing plans.
- Maintain focus on passenger experience, accessibility, brand consistency, and operational necessities during project implementation.
- Coordinate design reviews, user validations, stakeholder approvals, and document all decisions and action items to completion.
- Oversee launch logistics and communication strategies for new or enhanced IFEC and connected cabin features.
- Plan and track content and editorial project components, ensuring all internal and external collaborators are aligned with release schedules and fleet rollouts.
- Monitor readiness of media assets, metadata, promotional materials, and passenger-facing content to meet quality and brand standards.
- Integrate transformation initiatives with the cadence of monthly media cycles and strategic content partnerships.
- Implement stringent end-to-end testing, quality control, and stage gate procedures including user acceptance testing and regression tests.
- Ensure operational readiness by managing launch criteria, training, support materials, communications, and documentation with handover to operations teams.
- Develop and oversee tracking of project benefits and success metrics post-launch.
- Manage post-implementation reviews to capture lessons learned and identify continuous improvement measures.
- Identify deviations from expected outcomes and coordinate recovery strategies with responsible teams.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive dashboards and reports detailing project status, milestones, risks, budget, issues, dependencies, and benefits.
- Serve as the primary liaison for program governance, facilitating meetings, workshops, readiness forums and ensuring clear documentation of decisions and accountable parties.
- Track supplier deliverables, dependencies, and commitments; escalate any discrepancies promptly.
- Support budget management including purchase requests, invoice tracking, forecasting, and reporting in collaboration with finance and product teams.
- Contribute to leadership development, employee growth initiatives, data protection, safety, and environmental objectives within the department.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification.
- At least 6 years of relevant experience in project management, digital products, customer experience, technology deliverables, media content operations, or aviation industry.
- Demonstrated ability managing customer-facing digital technology or connected service projects through full lifecycle stages from concept to post-launch.
- Strong grasp of project governance principles, scheduling, budgeting, risk and dependency management, change control, and stakeholder communications.
- Financial acumen to manage and track budgets, cost forecasts, and invoice reconciliation.
- Deep understanding of customer experience design balanced with operational and technical constraints.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and external suppliers including technology partners and content providers.
- Knowledge of IFEC ecosystems, aircraft connectivity, digital media operations, editorial workflows, metadata management, and fleet deployment is advantageous.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and presentation skills to influence and engage diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities with strong attention to detail and proactive risk and issue escalation.
