About the School

Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Project Officer to support the creation and advancement of AI-driven visual analytics technologies. This position involves conducting research and development in various aspects associated with computer vision, image processing, and multimedia forensics targeted at human and marine life monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform research activities focusing on visual search and video analytics, encompassing object detection and detailed visual object examination.
  • Develop and curate large-scale datasets necessary for research purposes and algorithm benchmarking.
  • Collaborate actively within a research team to execute projects funded by external sources.
  • Contribute to the writing and submission of proposals to secure research funding in relevant areas.

Candidate Requirements

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with good standing in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Signal Processing, Machine Learning, or similar disciplines; higher qualifications such as a Master’s or PhD are preferred.
  • Experience in Deep Learning, Large Language Models (LLMs), or Large Vision Language Models (LVLMs). Knowledge of physics-based 3D modeling is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Python programming and PyTorch framework; familiarity with C/C++ is also important.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both oral and written; publication record is advantageous for effective data analysis and stakeholder interaction.
  • Demonstrated capability to work with stakeholders and provide guidance to student assistants.
