Job Overview

Fugro is seeking an accomplished Project Manager to oversee the delivery of complex projects within the Positioning & Construction Support (PCS) division based in Aberdeen. This senior role demands strong commercial insight, sound judgement, and confidence to lead high-value projects with effective risk management in dynamic environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full responsibility for PCS project delivery, ensuring outstanding safety, quality, scheduling, budgeting, and client satisfaction.
• Serve as the principal client contact, managing engagement, expectations, and addressing concerns at appropriate levels.
• Lead all project phases including mobilisation, execution, and demobilisation, ensuring thorough planning, resourcing, and control.
• Actively identify and manage project risks spanning QHSSE, commercial, contractual, technical, and operational areas.
• Maintain financial stewardship over project P&L including forecasting, cost management, invoicing, and safeguarding margins.
• Handle scope changes through formal Variation Orders, ensuring commercial transparency and rigor.
• Provide leadership and guidance to project teams and technical experts, setting expectations and driving performance.
• Select and deploy suitable equipment and methodologies aligned with project risks and operational needs.
• Apply Fugro's governance, approval, and project control frameworks consistently and rigorously.
• Monitor project progress, taking corrective actions promptly to ensure delivery targets are met.
• Document lessons learned and contribute to ongoing improvement of PCS project management practices.
• Exemplify professionalism, project management discipline, and uphold Fugro’s corporate values.

Candidate Profile

• Extensive project management experience with full lifecycle responsibility for technically complex projects.
• Strong background in construction support, positioning, offshore, marine, or analogous technical environments.
• Proven capability managing project financials including P&L, risk, and cost control.
• Solid experience overseeing QHSSE, contractual, technical, and operational risk dimensions.
• Confidence and authority in acting as senior client liaison.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and team collaboration mindset.
• Strong leadership, decision-making, and stakeholder management competence.
• Ability to work independently, handle ambiguity, and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Microsoft Project.
• Experience operating under structured project governance frameworks.
• Possession of project management certification such as PRINCE2, APM PMQ, PMP, or equivalent; extensive relevant experience may substitute formal qualification.
