Role Overview
Reporting directly to the Contract Manager, the Project Manager will oversee assigned construction projects from initiation through to completion. The role requires ensuring timely delivery within budget while upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and client satisfaction. This assignment will be headquartered in Cork, covering upcoming projects spanning pharmaceutical, life sciences, food and beverage, and commercial sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the construction project team, fostering high performance throughout the project's lifecycle.
- Establish and nurture collaborative relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
- Ensure all works align with the company’s Health and Wellbeing, Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards.
- Promote and maintain a strong culture of health and safety on-site.
- Develop and maintain the contract programme with the team, scheduling sequences and timing to meet milestones and completion deadlines.
- Implement ongoing medium and short-term project planning to minimize risks effectively.
- Uphold quality assurance practices, coordinating project activities per company quality systems, procedures, and specifications.
- Oversee production and commercial procedures on the project, collaborating with the commercial team and taking ownership of commercial outcomes.
- Manage procurement and ordering of subcontractor and supplier contracts according to the project programme.
- Drive value engineering and product development initiatives throughout the project duration.
- Maintain clear, effective communications with clients, design teams, subcontractors, and regulatory bodies.
- Provide transparent and accurate reporting and forecasting related to the project's progress and financials.
- Ensure all pertinent information is reviewed and acted upon during contract review and progress meetings.
- Attend and contribute to client and consultant meetings, preparing necessary documentation and responses.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field from a recognized third-level institution.
- Over seven years of post-qualification experience in construction.
- Proven track record managing large-scale commercial and industrial construction projects.
- Strong proficiency in IT, particularly Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and communication abilities.
- Demonstrated capability to build and sustain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Robust commercial insight and strong negotiation skills.
- Working knowledge of current building regulations and certification standards.
- Self-driven with the ability to independently manage tasks and initiatives.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills suitable for interaction with all personnel levels.
- Capacity to develop strong client, staff, and subcontractor relationships.
