Project Engineer - Refrigeration & HVAC Projects

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Project Engineer specializing in Refrigeration and HVAC projects to join our team in Bangalore. This full-time position requires 1 to 5 years of professional experience and involves considerable travel across South India to supervise and execute various HVAC and refrigeration projects.

Primary Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage HVAC and refrigeration projects from installation through commissioning and final handover.
• Coordinate daily activities at client sites, ensuring smooth project execution.
• Supervise installation processes of essential equipment including chillers, air handling units (AHUs), fan coil units (FCUs), ductwork, HVAC and refrigeration piping, cold rooms, ventilation systems, and associated controls.
• Interpret engineering drawings, layouts, specifications, and bills of quantities (BOQs) accurately to drive project progress.
• Liaise effectively with subcontractors, technicians, vendors, consultants, and customers.
• Track project milestones against planned timelines, ensuring material availability and effective site utilization.
• Perform site measurements, verify quantities, and participate actively in testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Prepare comprehensive project documentation including progress reports, site reports, and checklists, maintaining compliance with quality and safety standards.
• Attend site meetings, providing consistent updates to stakeholders.
• Commit to extensive travel throughout South Indian states such as Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana to support project requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, HVAC Engineering, or related disciplines is mandatory.
• Between 1 and 5 years’ experience in HVAC, refrigeration, MEP, industrial refrigeration, commercial HVAC, cold room, or cold storage project execution and site engineering.

Technical and Language Skills

• Proficient understanding of HVAC and refrigeration systems and their project implementation.
• Experience with site supervision, installation, commissioning, piping works for HVAC and refrigeration, cold room technology, technical drawing interpretation, BOQ analysis, and quantity verification.
• Familiarity with site measurement methods and material planning.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC electrical and control systems.
• Competent with MS Excel and MS Word; familiarity with AutoCAD is advantageous.
• Mandatory proficiency in English for clear communication; knowledge of regional South Indian languages (Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu) is vital for effective coordination across teams and clients.
