Job description
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer specializing in Overhead Transmission Line (OHTL) projects to oversee and coordinate the engineering and construction phases of 380kV EPC transmission line projects. The role requires close collaboration with engineering and construction teams, subcontractors, consultants, and client representatives to ensure full compliance with Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) standards, project criteria, quality, health, safety, environment (HSE) requirements, budget constraints, and timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate engineering and construction activities specific to 380 kV overhead transmission line projects.
- Review EPC contract documentation including technical specifications, drawings, bills of quantities and SEC standards.
- Oversee foundation works, tower erection, conductor stringing, and related civil construction tasks.
- Analyze design calculations, tower spotting profiles, sag-tension computations, and construction drawings for accuracy and compliance.
- Handle Requests for Information (RFIs), Technical Queries (TQs), design modifications, and engineering document revisions.
- Compile weekly and monthly progress reports; actively monitor project key performance indicators, productivity rates, and resource utilization.
- Assist with pre-commissioning, commissioning, energisation, final punch-list completion, and project handover procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 10 to 15 years of professional experience working on transmission line projects.
- At least 5 years focused on overhead transmission line EPC projects at 380 kV or above voltage levels.
- Familiarity with Saudi Electricity Company (SEC), National Grid Saudi Arabia, or utility/EPC contractors within the GCC is highly advantageous.
- Registered with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE).
- Preferred qualifications include SEC-approved engineer status and Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- NEBOSH or IOSH safety certifications are considered beneficial.
