About the Role

Join BAE Systems in a flexible Project Controls position where you will leverage advanced Earned Value Management tools and systems to assist project management teams in delivering cost, schedule, and risk insights. Work arrangements include hybrid, remote, or flexible options, including a 9-day fortnight, tailored to meet individual needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert support to other Project Planning & Controls (PP&C) professionals by utilizing specialist software tools such as Primavera P6, Cobra, and Oracle.
  • Assist with developing and maintaining Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and their dictionaries to ensure project clarity.
  • Help establish and keep updated approved cost and schedule Project Management Baselines (PMB).
  • Manage and process approved changes to project baselines.
  • Support the development and upkeep of control account structures and Responsibility Assignment Matrices (RAM).
  • Conduct detailed planning efforts including rolling wave planning and creating Control Account Plans (CAP).
  • Participate in monthly reporting activities such as capturing actuals, status, Estimates to Complete (ETC), and perform thorough variance analysis according to business rhythm.
  • Support Estimate at Completion (EAC) processes and offer subject matter expert advice to Control Account Managers (CAMs) for preparing and consolidating program-wide data.
  • Assist with Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBR) and Earned Value Management System (EVMS) surveillance reviews under guidance of the Project Planning and Controls Manager.
  • Ensure proper application of Earned Value Management standards, processes, and systems to facilitate timely, accurate reporting and performance measurement throughout project execution.

Candidate Profile

  • Prior experience as a Project Controller or Cost Schedule Analyst is essential.
  • Proficiency in cost management with demonstrated use of COBRA software.
  • Strong scheduling/planning skills with hands-on experience in Primavera P6.
  • Candidates possessing combined expertise in cost management and scheduling will be given priority.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Earned Value Management principles.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders to meet business requirements.
  • Capacity to work independently under time constraints, employing problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Possession of current Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain one.
