Job Overview
The Program Director role entails providing strategic leadership and overall responsibility for delivering a comprehensive program spanning multiple units and workstreams. This position demands management of program governance, engagement with stakeholders, maintaining quality in delivery, addressing risks, and ensuring collaboration across functions to meet approved scopes, milestones, budgets, and business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the complete lifecycle of program delivery and establish governance practices.
- Provide executive-level oversight for planning, executing activities, and quality assurance across all components.
- Manage interactions with stakeholders, facilitate decision-making processes, and handle escalations.
- Ensure synchronization among business divisions, technology groups, and vendor partners.
- Oversee and mitigate risks, resolve issues, manage dependencies, control budgets, and allocate resources efficiently.
- Continuously monitor program performance to assure success in achieving set goals.
Required Qualifications
- 10 to 12 years of experience handling program or portfolio management roles.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing extensive business and technological transformation initiatives.
- Strong skills in governance frameworks, delivery management, risk assessment, and stakeholder coordination.
- Firm knowledge of enterprise-level applications, systems integration, cloud services, data management, and digital transformation projects.
- Familiarity with software development life cycles and various delivery models including Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid approaches.
- Proven ability managing multi-vendor and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent executive communication, leadership capabilities, and sound decision-making aptitude.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with initiatives involving AI, Data & Analytics, Cloud infrastructure, ERP systems, or Digital Transformation programs.
- Understanding of Enterprise Architecture principles, Data Governance policies, Cybersecurity standards, and IT operational frameworks.
- Exposure to Azure, AWS, Power BI, Databricks, Snowflake, or comparable enterprise platforms.
- Relevant certifications such as PgMP, PMP, PRINCE2, MSP, SAFe, TOGAF, or equivalents.
Key Deliverables
- Develop program strategy, roadmaps, and governance structures.
- Prepare and present executive status reports and updates to steering committees.
- Manage risks, issues, dependencies, and escalation processes.
- Oversee budgeting, resource management, and monitor delivery performance.
- Ensure successful realization of program milestones and desired business results.
