Role Overview

Join Hitachi Energy as a Senior Project Manager, where you will take charge of steering intricate, sizable projects from start to finish. Your mission involves guaranteeing delivery aligns with predetermined scope, budget, and timelines, while coordinating diverse teams and maintaining clear communication with stakeholders to fulfill strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple projects through all life cycle stages including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, controlling, and closure.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Create detailed project plans outlining tasks, schedules, resource requirements, and budget forecasts.
  • Identify and evaluate risks and issues; devise and implement mitigation and contingency strategies.
  • Track budgets and expenses ensuring adherence to financial goals.
  • Build, inspire, and manage high-functioning project teams, offering leadership and performance feedback.
  • Promote seamless communication and collaboration between team members, stakeholders, and external suppliers.
  • Generate and present regular progress updates and dashboards to senior leadership and clients.
  • Ensure compliance with Hitachi's quality benchmarks, standards, and methodologies throughout projects.
  • Spot and act on opportunities to streamline processes and boost efficiency in project management.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and nurture strong client partnerships.
  • Oversee vendor and contractor selection and administration where applicable.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations and lessons learned to encourage ongoing improvement.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, or related disciplines; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) or comparable certificate such as PRINCE2.
  • At least eight years of progressive project management experience with a minimum of three years in senior roles within large multinational technology or engineering firms.
  • Demonstrable success in managing large, complex projects delivered on schedule and within budgets.
  • Proficient knowledge of different project management frameworks such as Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid methodologies.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills capable of influencing at all organizational levels.
  • Expertise in risk, change, and stakeholder management.
  • Experienced with project management software including Microsoft Project, Jira, and Asana, as well as team collaboration platforms.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Comfortable managing multiple competing priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with international teams and cross-cultural communication is highly advantageous.
  • Proficient in English language skills.
